Carbon Steel Bars

What is Carbon Steel Bars?

A carbon steel bar is an alloy that contains carbon and iron. It has high tensile strength and good weldability but can be prone to corrosion if not properly treated.
Carbon steel bar is often used to make bars because it can be straightened easily in an annealing process.Carbon steel bar has a low resistance to corrosion and rusting compared to stainless steel
Carbon steel is a type of metal that has carbon mixed into it. This causes the metal to be strong and flexible but more susceptible to corrosion. Carbon steel can be used for car parts or building frameworks because it needs less maintenance than stainless steel.

Riddhi Siddhi Impex is a leading manufacturer, supplier and exporter of pipe fittings, forged fittings, tube fittings, dairy fittings, valves, Shims, Washers, Fasteners, Round Bars, Gaskets and flanges.

Types of Carbon Steel Round Bars

Carbon steel round bars are an iron-carbon alloy, typically containing about 2.1 wt.% carbon. They find applications in industries such as auto manufacturing, aerospace, shipbuilding, and more.

  1. Low-Carbon Steel:Widely used, low-carbon steel round bars have approximately 0.25 wt.% carbon content. They are not hardened using heat but through cold work. These round bars possess high ductility, making them ideal for low-cost machining and welding. They may also contain elements like nickel, copper, vanadium, or molybdenum for enhanced strength.
  2. Medium-Carbon Steel:Round bar stocks of medium-carbon steel have a carbon content ranging from 0.25 to 0.60 wt.%, along with manganese content of 0.60 to 1.65 wt.%. Heat treatment improves their mechanical properties, resulting in a martensitic microstructure. These hardened medium-carbon steel round bars offer increased strength but have lower ductility and toughness.
  3. High-Carbon Steel:High-carbon steel round bars contain carbon content between 0.60 and 1.25 wt.%. They provide high hardness and toughness, making them ideal for applications that require these characteristics. Despite lower elasticity, these hardened and tempered round bars offer high resistance to wear.
  4. Alloy Steels:Alloy steel round bars, including die steels and tool steels, may contain additional alloying elements such as chromium, molybdenum, or tungsten. These elements contribute to increased hardness and wear resistance, making alloy steel round bars suitable for demanding applications.

Why Choose Carbon Steel Bar?
